Elizabeth A. Martin

Elizabeth MartinElizabeth A. Martin specializes in the practice of career and leadership development. In 2001, she founded Elizabeth A. Martin and Associates to offer coaching and consulting services for individuals who are searching for their best career options and to help professionals take control of their career future, thrive, and prosper.

Elizabeth has coached clients throughout the United States and across the globe. She is experienced in working with private career clients, small companies, as well as in large federal agencies. One of Elizabeth's largest client groups is the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She has over 10 years of experience serving as a consultant and coach to public health officials who want to advance their leadership, enhance their strategic thinking, and optimize team effectiveness.

Elizabeth is certified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Strong Interest Inventory, EQI 360-Emotional Intelligence 360 assessment, ABLE- Assessment of Basic Leader Effectiveness, Career Orientation Placement and Evaluation Survey, and other tools. Elizabeth's professional history includes over twenty years of experience as a business and healthcare leader, public speaker, educator, and career coach.

Notable Career Positions and Appointments:

1985 -1993 - Held a clinical faculty appointment in the School of Medicine, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Physical Therapy Program at Emory University.

1993 -1996 - Became the first woman in Olympic history to serve as director of medical services for the Olympic games.

1997- 2001 - Became President and Chief Executive Officer for the Arthritis Foundation, Georgia Chapter where she led the Chapter into the national spotlight, receiving awards of excellence for visionary leadership, strategic management, and public health initiatives. She was the first woman to serve as president and CEO for the forty-year-old Chapter.

2000 and 2001 - Named to the Atlanta Business Chronicle's 2000 and 2001 edition of "Who's Who in Healthcare."

Elizabeth is not only a consultant and coach; she is also a volunteer to academic and non-profit organizations. From 2000 – 2011, she served as an Advisory Board Member to the College of Health and Human Sciences of Georgia State University. Additionally, she serves on numerous non-profit boards and organizations, such as the Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS), Georgia Chapter, Heritage Sandy Springs and the Sandy Springs Society. In 2010, Pillow Academy, Elizabeth's high school alma mater, recognized her professional successes by naming her the alumnus of the year. In 2011, the Arthritis Foundation, Georgia Chapter selected Elizabeth to be the Honorary Chair, for the 30th anniversary of the Crystal Ball, the chapter's most prestigious fundraising event.

Meredith SmithMeredith joined Elizabeth A. Martin and Associates in 2010 and brings with her more than twenty years of experience in marketing, communications, training, and corporate social responsibility. She is MBTI certified and dedicated to providing valuable career direction and focus to clients.

Prior to joining Elizabeth A. Martin and Associates, Meredith led communications and training for the ebusiness group of The Coca-Cola Company. Before The Coca-Cola Company, Meredith served as Vice President of Strategic Marketing for the Climate Initiative at The Weather Channel. She has worked for a wide range of businesses including MediVista Media, Cartoon Network, TNT Latin America, Egreetings.com, and Premier Retail Networks. Meredith has started a successful public service initiative at almost every company where she has worked and has a proven track record of driving business growth for clients like Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Costco, Crayola, Microsoft, and Kraft. She is a creative, results-driven leader with a passion for motivating others to reach their full career potential.
